Physical and chemical properties Appearance: White to pale yellow-white fine crystalline powder or crystals

Melting point: about 150 ℃ (literature, sublimes before decomposition)

Boiling point: about 175 ℃ (literature value, sublimates and decomposes easily under normal pressure) Density: ≈2.65 g/cm³ (25 ℃)

Vapour pressure: 1.2 mmHg (67 ℃); can sublime in vacuum at 60–70 ℃

Solubility: insoluble in water; slightly soluble in ether, ethanol; soluble in THF, benzene, toluene and other non-protic organic solvents

Stability: fairly stable at room temperature, relatively insensitive to air (considered a relatively stable metal carbonyl complex), decomposes above 150 ℃ releasing CO, incompatible with strong oxidants

Main uses CVD / LPCVD / EBID: Tungsten hexacarbonyl is a tungsten precursor, used to prepare tungsten films, WOₓ or WO₃₋ₓ gas-sensitive sensing films via thermal decomposition or electron beam-induced deposition Organic synthesis catalyst: used in carbonylation of amines, Fischer carbene complex precursors, Pd(II)→Pd(0) nanoparticle reducing agent, etc. Material modification: tungsten coating on metal/ceramic surfaces, repair of LCD metal wiring (as an alternative to WF₆ to avoid HF corrosion) Photochemical research: as a photoinitiator or photolytic tungsten source FIB line repair, protection, deposition, ALD coating; FIB line repair, protection, deposition, ALD coating.

Safety notes GHS label: GHS06 (skull), hazard statements H301 H311 H331 (toxic if swallowed/in contact with skin/inhaled) UN number: UN 3466, Class 6.1, PG III

Handle in a fume hood, wear protective gloves, goggles and a gas mask; releases toxic CO when heated, keep away from open flames or hot surfaces

Package: Bottled, filled with inert gas

MOQ: No minimum order quantity, kilograms are acceptable
