General Compliance and Storage Requirements
Strict adherence to the Law on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste is mandatory. Measures must be taken to prevent the materials from scattering, washing away, or leaking; unauthorized dumping or stockpiling is prohibited, and the illicit disposal of these materials in areas such as rivers, lakes, or foreshores is strictly forbidden.
Materials must be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from sources of fire or heat, to prevent deterioration due to moisture. Materials such as anhydrous copper sulfate require strict protection against rain and dampness and must not be stored alongside food or animal feed.
Personnel must take protective measures, including wearing masks and gloves, to avoid direct skin contact or dust inhalation. After use, any remaining material must be disposed of in compliance with local environmental regulations and must not be discarded indiscriminately.
Key Points for Using Marine Antifouling Paint Materials
Materials must be thoroughly stirred before application to prevent settling, which could compromise the paint's effectiveness. The shelf life generally should not exceed one year to prevent the loss of efficacy caused by a reaction between the rosin and cuprous oxide.
The paint must be used in conjunction with an anti-corrosive primer. The recoating interval should be controlled between 14 and 24 hours, and the coating thickness must strictly meet specifications. The addition of thinner should be minimized or avoided entirely to prevent impairing antifouling performance.
Products should be selected based on the breeding patterns of marine organisms in the intended sailing waters. Application is best scheduled prior to the peak breeding season to ensure that the release rate of the active biocides aligns with the intended service life.
